As speculation continues to filter out about who might be the man to take over from Stefano Pioli as AC Milan’s head coach for next season, one name seems to be able to unify everyone.

According to MilanNews, Sergio Conceiçao spent Sunday in Switzerland closely watching his son Rodrigo who plays as a full-back for FC Zurich. Meanwhile, four hours away by car, Milan were experiencing a surreal situation with the fans going on strike and a winless streak continuing.

The Curva Sud explained their reasons for protesting in a statement that was distributed before the game yesterday and they called upon the management to show some ambition in order to take the next step in the project.

Julen Lopetegui was not considered the right man to do that, while Antonio Conte is but he is not a target. Conceiçao, on the other hand, is the compromise that could make everyone agree, providing that he can leave Porto.

Tomorrow André Villas-Boas will be officially become the president of Porto. He has already said that he wants to speak with Conceiçao to understand if there are the conditions to continue together.

This is not certain, because Conceiçao under the presidency of Pinto da Costa had enormous power and it remains to be seen if he will still have that. Indeed, the impression is that he has to compromise and this would be an advantage in Milan’s favour.

Having been at Porto since 2017, Conceiçao has the ambition of taking the next step. Not for money, but to compete at a higher competitive level in European football.
